MOTO stands for Mail Order Telephone Order
MOTO accounts are used when a merchant accepts orders from customers which are processed with the customer not physically present.
An example of a card holder not present transaction may be when a customer orders though a telephone call and the merchant enters the customer's card details onto a web based virtual terminal.
